We are also one of five Prep Schools within the Edmund Rice Family of Schools who organise a number of sporting events throughout the year.

In the last twelve months we have been successful on a number of sporting fronts.

PE and Games lessons:

All boys in Reception, Infant 1 and Infant 2 have two P.E. lessons per week. Various activities take place in these lessons with emphasis on the boys increasing their skill levels. Gymnastic work will take place during each term.

Boys in Prep 1, 2, 3 and 4 have one P.E. lesson a week and a double games session. Again a variety of activities take place including gymnastics, cross country, rugby, hockey, tennis, football and cricket.

Every year boys from Prep 3 and Prep 4 (sometimes Prep 2, depending on numbers) are offered a series of 8 golf lessons during lunchtimes at Ringway Golf Club. Lessons are given by James Salt (professional at Ringway) and an annual tournament in the summer term is held on the course with boys enjoying lunch in the clubhouse afterwards. (32 boys competed in the 2017 tournament).

All our P.E and games lessons are led by our specialist P.E teacher Mr. Conroy. The school also employs Mr Murphy, a rugby coach from St Ambrose College, to teach and take the upper junior rugby teams.

The majority of P.E. lessons take place in the well-equipped hall. Games lessons take place on our extensive fields, or astroturf and the G4 pitch.

In the last twelve months the School has also secured the use of St Ambrose College swimming pool. Prep 1 boys have swimming lessons on a weekly basis and our Prep 4 boys use the pool fortnightly for water polo lessons.
